Thousands of Meals Prepared for St. Louis Children by Volunteers, Generosity Feeds and Spreading MODness.
ST. LOUIS-More than 10,000 filling, nutritious meals are on their way to children in the St. Louis community after a meal-creation event at the Demetrious Johnson Foundation. Two-hundred volunteers from St. Louis and surrounding areas joined Generosity Feeds on July 28th to pack the easy-to-prepare meals in about two hours.
About 94% of children in the area struggle with hunger, particularly during the summer when many schools are out of session. Generosity Feeds is a nonprofit dedicated to feeding American children who struggle with hunger.
“We were very happy to partner with our friends in St. Louis for this event,” said Ron Klabunde, Founder and CEO of Generosity Feeds. “All of the food will be distributed through local schools or food pantries to students who qualify for free and reduced meals. The volunteers came out and made this event possible, and we’re grateful for all they did.”
Even though the packing event is complete, donations to help cover costs are always appreciated. One-for-one…every dollar feeds one child in need.
Generosity Feeds worked with a culinary chef to create meals that provide an excellent value and taste great. The meals have a stable shelf life and are simple to prepare.
“We’ve come up with a formula that assembles and distributes these meals quickly and efficiently,” said Klabunde. “This event will help us give them hope as thousands of nutritious meals are packed and distributed to local children.”
MOD Pizza’s Spreading Modness Initiative
Generosity Feeds would like to thank MOD Pizza’s Spreading Modness Initiative for making this event possible. MOD Pizza is partnering with Generosity Feeds to feed half a million children across America.
Generosity Feed’s next event is in Dayton, OH on Saturday, August 25th. We’ll gather with volunteers at JFK Elementary School. If you’re in the area, we hope you’ll consider registering as a volunteer or making a donation.
About Generosity Feeds
More than 13-million children in America struggle with hunger. That’s one in every six. The number is even higher in Lake County.
Generosity Feeds wants all children to have the opportunity to thrive, but it’s hard to thrive when your next meal is uncertain. We partner with local businesses, churches, schools, and nonprofits to feed hungry children in their communities. As we grow, we hope to help kids in every county in the United States.
We would love to work with your organization to host a meal-packaging event that can build relationships, inspire long-term generosity, and feed hungry children in your community.
Generosity Feeds is an initiative of the Replenish Community Foundation, 501c3. We are a Gold Participant in the GuideStar Nonprofit Exchange (GuideStar.org). Learn more about our mission at GenerosityFeeds.org.
