ASHBURN-More than 15,000 filling, nutritious meals are on their way to Loudoun County children after a meal-creation event with volunteers at Broad Run High School.
Some 309 volunteers from Loudoun County and surrounding areas joined Generosity Feeds to pack 15,150 meals in about two hours on Saturday, June 23rd.
The volunteers exceeded their ambitious 15,000-meal goal and had a great time together.
The meals are being distributed to children locally through two non-profit organizations - Helping Hungry Kids of Northern Virginia and The Loudoun Backpack Coalition. Both organizations share Generosity Feeds’ mission to help kids who struggle with hunger, and they focus specifically on the Loudoun County area.
“This event will help us give children in the Loudoun County area hope as thousands of nutritious meals are packed and distributed,” said Ron Klabunde, Founder and CEO of Generosity Feeds. “We’ve come up with a formula that assembles and distributes these meals quickly and efficiently.”
Donations to help cover costs are always appreciated and can be given at any time. One-for-one…every dollar feeds a child in need. Just $30 can provide about 30 meals.
“We worked with a culinary chef to make nutritious meals that kids will love to eat,” said Klabunde. “Our meals are filled with protein and fiber from sustainable sources. They taste good, they’re satisfying and they’re easy to prepare.”

About Generosity Feeds
Nearly one in five children in Loudoun County (17%) struggles with hunger. More than 13-million children in America struggle with hunger. That’s one in every six.
Generosity Feeds wants all children to have the opportunity to thrive, but it’s hard to thrive when your next meal is uncertain. We partner with local businesses, churches, schools, and nonprofits to feed hungry children in their communities. As we grow, we hope to help kids in every county in the United States.
We would love to work with your organization to host a meal-packaging event that can build relationships, inspire long-term generosity, and feed hungry children in your community.
